As a Manual Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products before they are released to our clients or users. Your responsibilities will involve executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with the development team to ensure that issues are addressed effectively. You will need to have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test cases meticulously according to predefined test plans and procedures to verify software functionality.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using designated defect tracking tools, ensuring that issues are clearly communicated to the development team.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that previously developed and tested software continues to perform correctly after changes and updates.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover any unexpected issues or defects that may not be covered by existing test cases.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of test results, including test case execution logs, defect reports, and test coverage matrices, documented at Jira.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of identified issues and to provide feedback on software quality.
- Contribute to the improvement of quality assurance processes and methodologies by providing feedback and suggestions based on your testing experiences.
- Communicate effectively with team members to report progress, raise concerns, and provide updates on testing activities.
- Participate in the DevOps tasks and maintain the development cycle for the smooth operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience in manual software testing is preferred but not mandatory. Fresh graduates with relevant coursework or internships are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to systematically troubleshoot issues and identify root causes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meticulously follow test procedures and documentation standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate issues, provide feedback, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and requirements.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira), test management tools (e.g., TestRail), and basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
