Release date: June 2, 2026
Overview
This release delivers major upgrades to the Brandsole featureset, including a redesigned preset system, a new accommodative insole tool, and landmark/full-length fitting options. Fitting can now be adjusted by four distinct regions (length, heel width, met width, arch height). Additional refinements include an MPJ offset slider, an enhanced Full bar pad shape, and more improvements and fixes!
Key Enhancements
New presets / styles
The preset system has been completely redesigned in the background, and new options have been introduced. These are now divided into accommodative and hard shell categories. The preset saving and reloading functionality is maintained as before, however, previously used presets are not supported by the new system.
Accommodative insole tool
The accommodative mode has been moved from the Dimensions tool to a dedicated Accommodative insole tool. The bottom rounding offset and rounding settings can be accessed here.
Additionally, the bottom rounding offset has been divided into 4 regions to maintain compatibility with the previous Thick insole functionality.
This workflow can be utilized as follows: The ‘Generic’ shoe type is to be used, as the top and bottom contours are identical in this configuration (consequently, no narrower brandsole is present by default).
The “bottom rounding offset” is to be set to 0. The heel, medial, and lateral extra offset parameters are applied separately by region, similarly to the undercut parameters in the previous Thick insole tool.
New landmark and full length fitting
Previously, the length of the full length insole was calculated from the MPJ1-heel distance. Consequently, the length of the toe plate was inconsistent and frequently turned out too long.
From now on, the total foot length is measured, and the full length insole is extended beyond the foot by a predefined full length offset value.
Fitting options
The insole is automatically fitted to the foot based on the landmarks. However, in the case of a full length insole, if the insole is to be created for a shoe of a specific length and width, the length and width fitting may not yield the appropriate result, as foot dimensions are monitored instead of shoe dimensions.
Moving forward, the fitting can be adjusted according to 4 regions: length, heel width, met width, and arch height. For example, with length and met width fitting deactivated, the insole fits into the specified shoe while remaining aligned with the foot.
MPJ offset
An MPJ offset slider has been integrated into the Dimensions tool. This addition was required so that the starting point of the arches can be perfectly aligned with the foot using a single slider in the case of a full length insole, regardless of the total length, without the total insole length being altered.
Due to the optimized algorithm, this adjustment is performed in such a manner that the contours of the selected brandsole are affected minimally. Consequently, proper fitting of the insole into the shoe is ensured, regardless of the positioning of the MPJs on the insole.
New Full bar shape
The Full bar pad shape and its operation have been refined.
Forefoot post
The minimum value of the proximal edge parameter of the Forefoot post has been reduced, allowing a shorter post to be added, resulting in optimized printing costs.
New language
Chinese (Simplified) is now available.
Themes
Light, Dark, and Automatic modes are now available. The setting is stored by the browser.
Log out button
A Log out button has been added.
Bug Fixes
Forefoot post mirroring
An issue where not all parameters were copied during Forefoot post mirroring has been resolved.
Project metadata reload
Multiple errors encountered during metadata loading have been resolved. Previously, not all parameters were loaded, and saved settings were overwritten by automatic re-fitting upon scan loading.
Distal thickness issue
For a full length insole, the distal thickness can be adjusted in both the Dimensions tool and the Full length tool. A synchronization issue between these parameters has been resolved.
Other bug fixes and performance improvements
Numerous other minor fixes and optimizations have been implemented in both the engine and the user interface.
We hope these enhancements prove valuable to your workflow. For any questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact your LeoShape representative, or fill out our contact form and we will get back to you shortly.
